WayCarbon listed among the world’s most prominent climate change consulting providers

WayCarbon has been recognized as one of the 15 most prominent global climate change consulting providers by the independent research firm Verdantix, based in London, England. The company is the only one based in Latin America to be included in the survey and was categorized as a “challenger company” in the Green Quadrant: Climate Change Consulting Report 2023, published in June.

The following month, WayCarbon’s Climate Management and Integrated ESG Management software, Climas, was mentioned in another Verdantix report, the Green Quadrant: ESG Reporting and Data Management Software. This report serves as a guide for organizations looking to invest in ESG management and reporting tools.

The first report highlights the growth in corporate investment in climate-related initiatives in recent years and emphasizes the importance of preparing people for a sustainable future. According to Connor Taylor, industry analyst at Verdantix, the net-zero market alone is expected to reach nearly $16 billion by 2028, as reported in the organization’s press release

In the publication, Verdantix states that WayCarbon’s strengths include carbon credit support and generation, climate risk management, strategy and governance, and net zero target setting. As a result, the company is “recommended for global companies requiring end-to-end climate management capabilities” (particularly in the agribusiness sector) and for “organizations seeking to develop nature-based carbon projects in South America”. (Verdantix, Green Quadrant: Climate Change Consulting, 2023).

In the second report, Verdantix says that ESG data management and reporting software should incorporate sustainability-related data from all departments: “to eliminate noise and facilitate communication with stakeholders such as investors, business functions, and the executive board.” (Verdantix, Green Quadrant: ESG Reporting And Data Management Software, 2023).

According to Verdantix, Climas’ strengths include its friendly and intuitive user interface, customizable dashboards, and predefined templates for generating reports based on various voluntary frameworks such as the Carbon Disclosure Program (CDP) and the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI).

Carla Leal, director of WayCarbon’s Digital area, comments on the publication of the report: “8 years ago, when it started developing Climas, WayCarbon was visionary, bringing the business knowledge acquired up to that moment to a digital product. Since then, investments in Climas and MOVE, which are our software focused on ESG management and climate change and climate risk management, respectively, have only been growing. And many new features are being prepared to support our customers even more through these products”, she concludes.

In addition, the report highlights Climas’ strong customer support and WayCarbon’s prominent position in Latin America, with potential for expansion into North America and Europe, especially after Santander Spain’s investment in 2022. Verdantix suggests WayCarbon should be shortlisted by high-emitting companies looking to decarbonize their operations. (Verdantix, Green Quadrant: ESG Reporting and Data Management Software, 2023).

For Henrique Pereira, Director of Consulting and Co-founder of WayCarbon, there is a clear market paradigm shift achieved by WayCarbon. “We are the only Latin American company included in the analyses of the most relevant global providers, and the only one to be listed concurrently in the consulting and technology reports. We are certainly ready to deliver on our ambition to operate globally, based on a value proposition anchored in 17 years of expertise applied across all sectors of the economy and a robust offering of technology-based products such as Climas and MOVE.”
